Christ-Centered Education – Academics
Preschool- Kindergarten
Christ-centered education begins right here at Salem Lutheran School. Preschoolers receive a warm welcome to the daily routine of school life, preparing them for a smooth transition into kindergarten.
Salem Lutheran’s Preschool program provides a nurturing and loving environment for your 3-year-old or 4-year-old preschooler. Children are encouraged to play, explore, and discover as they learn in a Christ-centered education setting.
Our Preschool program provides a Christian learning environment that prepares children for a successful transition into the school environment and prepares them for Kindergarten.

Early Elementary
In our Christ-centered education approach, early elementary students build essential skills through phonics, sight words, and fluency to develop reading decoding, spelling, and vocabulary. In addition to reading and comprehension, students establish a solid foundation in numeracy and basic mathematical processes.
Students also explore the Bible and its truths daily, gaining a stronger commitment to their faith as part of our integrated Christ-centered education.
Middle School
Students in fifth through eighth grade are surrounded by a loving and caring group of teachers who deliver Christ-centered education with purpose. In addition to core academic subjects, independence, responsibility, and self-advocacy are woven into the middle school curriculum.
Middle School students are challenged to become critical thinkers, encouraged to step into leadership roles, and provided with guidance, spiritual care, and support as they continue their faith walk with Jesus – extending far beyond Salem Lutheran.
Athletics
Philosophy of Salem Lutheran School After-School Sports
The sports program is an extension of our overall Christ-centered education philosophy, aiming to prepare students for full participation in their adult lives by developing values in three key areas:
- Relationship with Self
- Relationship with Others
- Relationship with God
Core Values and Goals
- Platform for Development: Organized sports serve as a platform for developing athletic, social, and spiritual skills within our Christ-centered education framework.
- Recognized Value: The school recognizes the value of athletics for physical fitness, sportsmanship, team building, leadership development, and – most importantly – the athlete’s relationship with God.
Participation and Eligibility
Participation is voluntary and considered a privilege. Participants uphold courtesy and sportsmanship both on the field and at school. Eligibility is based on academic and behavioral qualifications.
Student Involvement
Students in grades 5–8 have opportunities to compete in up to three sports: Soccer, Volleyball, Cheerleading, Basketball, and Track.
